Terms of Service
Terms for using MitzvahBox and the Tzedakah Box pilot.
Agreement
These Terms of Service apply to MitzvahBox, Tzedakah Box, and related public pages. By using the app or site, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What MitzvahBox does
MitzvahBox operates Tzedakah Box, a donation facilitation app. The app helps users set aside funds, create or use digital tzedakah boxes, choose listed charity destinations, and review activity.
MitzvahBox is not a registered charity unless future public materials say otherwise. Tax receipts, where available, are issued by receiving charities.
Pilot limitations
The service is in a controlled pilot. Charity availability, payment support, payout timing, account recovery, support workflows, and transparency features may be limited or changed as the product is tested.
Pilot charities are curated while payment handling, support, payout readiness, and reconciliation are verified.
User responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing the amount, currency, box, charity, and destination before confirming a payment, top-up, allocation, or distribution.
Do not use the app for unlawful activity, fraudulent payments, unauthorized payment methods, harassment, attempts to bypass payment controls, or any use that could harm donors, charities, beneficiaries, the platform, or service providers.
Payments
Payments are handled by third-party providers such as Stripe and Apple Pay. MitzvahBox does not store full credit card numbers.
Funds may be routed through configured payment, ledger, allocation, and payout workflows before they reach a receiving charity. Payment provider fees, payout timing, charity readiness, blocked payouts, refunds, disputes, and reconciliation steps may affect the final timing or status of a donation.
Refunds
Refund availability may depend on payment status, allocation status, payout status, provider rules, charity receipt status, fraud review, and legal or operational requirements.
Please contact support as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of the payment or allocation. MitzvahBox cannot guarantee a refund after funds have been paid out to a charity unless a refund is legally and operationally possible.
See Refunds for the current support path.
Taxes and advice
MitzvahBox does not provide tax, legal, financial, or charitable-giving advice. Donation deductibility depends on the receiving charity, jurisdiction, donor status, and applicable law. Please consult a qualified adviser if you need tax or legal advice.
Account recovery and anonymous use
The app may support anonymous-first use through a Support ID. Some builds may allow optional account recovery through a configured sign-in provider. If you use anonymous mode, keep your Support ID available for support requests.
Availability and changes
The service may be unavailable, delayed, or changed due to maintenance, provider outages, App Store review, payment-provider requirements, charity onboarding, security issues, or pilot-stage changes.
MitzvahBox may update these terms as the service, legal operator, payment model, or charity operations change.
Dispute questions
Questions or disputes during the controlled pilot should first be sent to support@mitzvahbox.org so the team can review the app, payment, ledger, and support records.
These terms may be updated as the service, legal operator, governing law, dispute venue, payment model, or charity operations are formalized. Mandatory consumer protection laws may apply regardless of the governing law selected.
