Delete Data

How to request deletion

Email privacy@mitzvahbox.org with the subject line "Data deletion request".

Please include your Support ID from the app Settings screen if you have it. If you signed in or contacted support by email, include the email address you used.

What can usually be deleted

Depending on your account state and payment history, MitzvahBox may be able to delete or de-identify:

• App account or support profile details.
• Optional contact information you provided.
• Non-essential app preferences.
• Support conversation records that are not needed for legal, payment, security, or accounting reasons.
• Account recovery links where they are no longer needed.

What may need to be retained

Some records may need to be retained even after a deletion request, including:

• Payment, refund, dispute, and payout records required by payment providers.
• Ledger and allocation records needed to reconcile funds and charity payouts.
• Fraud, abuse, security, or audit records.
• Tax, accounting, legal, App Store, or charity-compliance records.
• Records needed to resolve an open support, refund, dispute, or payout issue.

Where full deletion is not possible, MitzvahBox will try to limit retained data to what is necessary for those purposes.

Identity verification

MitzvahBox may ask for information needed to verify that you control the Support ID, email address, account, or payment reference connected to the request. This helps prevent someone else from deleting or accessing your information.

Timing

MitzvahBox aims to acknowledge deletion requests promptly and complete eligible requests within a reasonable period after identity verification. Some requests may take longer if they involve payment disputes, payout reconciliation, legal requirements, or provider records.
